Hard-Disc recording within the CDSVAN system offers you a convenient and easy to use solution for hard-disk recording of all your delegates and languages.
Individual Recording
A unique application is the automatic and individual digital recording of each speech of a delegate into its own single file on your hard drive.
The individual recording starts automatically when the delegate’s microphone is switched on, and is stored within its own file, including the delegate’s name, time stamp and if required additional information about the conference and speech. Different speeches now can recalled without any disturbing noices from other audio sources, as the recorder only records the open microphone of the currently speaking delegate. CDSVAN is designed to record up to 7 active microphones simultaneously and store the individual file information into their respective files.
Multi channel Recording
The new CDSVAN Hard Disk Recording Module (RecControl) is designed to record digitally up to 10 channels. The number of channels can be set, enabling RecControl to be easily adapted to the requirements of changing conference applications. This allows the day's conference to be easily recorded: not just spoken word from the auditorium but also the languages translated by the interpreters. For rapporteurs a speech can be divided into sequences, so-called "takes", enabling several writers to work on a contribution. This means that the minutes or manuscript as a whole can be processed quicker.
Each individual recording track can be labeled with the respective sound source (preferably designation of the language). This enables contributions in each available language to be quickly found and used after the conference.
Would you like to always archive the translated language with the original? No problem – switch RecControl to the stereo mode, and a stereo channel will automatically be recorded for the original and the other channel for the respective translated language – with up to ten channels simultaneously.
Different conferences are automatically stored in specified folders, which mean you never lose sight of the overview even when there are huge amounts of data. The graphical user interface is optimized by trimming it down to the really important functions, to enable the best possible overview for the user. In developing RecControl great value has above all placed on recording reliability: two additional redundant storage locations are available; system-internal, for instance on a 2nd hard disk and for further processing (for instance copies) and archiving in the in-house network. And this is all fully automatic – you simply define the target location.
The recording time is naturally determined by the amount of available memory capacity. Today standard hard disks enable you to store or archive your conferences for up to a year or more, depending on channel allocation – no comparison to recordings on a standard memory card. The sound quality of the recordings is primarily determined by the sound source. RecControl is digital integrated into the CDSVAN, which means that superfluous analogue to digital conversions are completely done away with and recordings can also be made in studio quality. The recordings of your conference can either be made in WAVE or in MP3 format on a digital medium.
