Brahler ICS UK was recently selected to provide all simultaneous interpretation and delegate microphone systems at the Afghanistan London Conference.
Brähler ICS was selected by the UK Government through the host broadcasters Feltech after the success of their work at the G20 London Summit in April 2009.
Brähler supplied their flagship CDSVAN digital interpretation system in the ministers meeting room and the main press briefing.
The plenary system composed of a 9 channel interpretation system for 250 delegates together with relay to 600 delegates in a separate marquee. Also supplied was a 90 unit DC10 microphone system integrated with a 5 dome camera system relaying “talking head” pictures to the interpreters and to watching delegates in other areas.
Brahler also supplied another system for 6 languages using the CDSVAN interpretation system for the post conference press briefing in adjoining temporary structures, together with 600 Infrared receivers for local and international media. In addition Brahler also provided 30 separate sound-proof booths in the press areas for use by radio broadcasters.
With less than 1 month between contract award and the event going live this event demanded the very highest level of planning and organisation by all involved. Brahler ICS UK was able to call upon both equipment and expertise from across Europe, once again demonstrating the success of the Brahler Network.
Lancaster House is a grand old venue outside Buckingham Palace however it is not built for large-scale events, due to the scale of the Afghanistan London Conference, Feltech arranged for additional press and delegate areas to be built in a secure compound outside the venue. The timescales and weather were against them but the installation was carried out on time and to plan.
With leaders from across the globe attending, the meeting demanded the highest level of service; Brahler ICS UK are pleased to report that they delivered as per the specification and received positive feedback from the highest levels.
